A man has been arrested in connection to an alleged double stabbing incident that occurred in North Vancouver in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Mounties were called to reports of an assault in front of a bar on Semisch Avenue just after 2 a.m., the North Vancouver RCMP said in a release Thursday.
According to Cpl. Mansoor Sahak, the alleged assault occurred after a dispute inside the bar between two parties who were known to each other. North Vancouver brewpub Sailor Hagar’s has resided at the Semisch Avenue location since 1938.
Paramedics arrived to find two people with serious, but non-life-threatening, stab wounds who were taken to hospital for treatment, police said.
According to the statement, a North Vancouver man who had been on parole was arrested by police April 15, and he remains in custody due to the violation.
“As the investigation is in its very early stages, there are a lot of unanswered questions that police are seeking answers for,” said Sahak.
Anyone who believes they may have information relevant to the investigation is asked to contact police at 604-985-1311 and quote file number 25-7227.
