Mounties on Vancouver Island are trying to identify a second suspect in an alleged kidnapping that was caught on camera last week.
The North Cowichan Duncan RCMP was informed of the incident on Feb. 19, according to a news release from the detachment.
“It was reported that two men were seen on video assaulting and placing a third man into a vehicle,” the statement said.
“Later the same day officers located the suspect vehicle while conducting patrols. One man was arrested and the vehicle was seized.”
That man, Jamie Pickett has been charged with kidnapping, assault with a weapon, assault, and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Authorities said the victim “has been located safe” but did not provide any details about when, where or how the person was found. While the RCMP said it is “actively” working to identify the second suspect, no description was provided.
