Vancouver Realtor welcomes new clients with his ‘Arms Wide Open’

Published:

One Vancouver Realtor got creative to entice people to his next open house.

Vancouver real estate agent Jacob Strigan channels his inner Creed in his new YouTube video: “This House is Open.”

The video, which has over 5,000 views, parodies Creed’s 1999 hit “Arms Wide Open” with Strigan’s own twist, advertising his latest listing – a condo in North Vancouver.

“I was a little nervous about putting myself out there, that it wouldn’t be received well,” said Strigan. “I’ve always had the urge to try something different and break out.”

Strigan sat on this idea for two years before it came to life. He was nervous about taking the risk, and couldn’t find the right house for it either. But finally, he took the leap.

He says in a time where digital marketing is everywhere, this was a chance to get more personal with potential future clients.

“The more creativity you apply, the more people get to know you as an agent,” he said.

According to Resimpli, 96 per cent of home buyers search for their dream home online. Strigan hopes his decision to put this video out may inspire other Realtors to step out of their comfort zone.

“Just go for it, I’ve been really successful in taking those risks. If you have idea, if you think you can do it, don’t be worried,” Strigan said.

Strigan wrote and sang the whole parody himself, and says there was no AI involved in the process.

For new “fans” of his, Strigan says he has many ideas in the works.

“I’m working on a song that should come out in May, and I got a Michael Buble song, but I just haven’t found the right listing for it yet,” he said.

Although some agents host open houses, this one will continue to sing about it with his “arms wide open.”
