B.C.’s police watchdog is appealing for information and witnesses after a man was injured while being arrested at a Vancouver Tim Hortons early Thursday morning.

Officers with the Vancouver Police Department were called about a “disturbance” at the coffee shop on Davie Street around 2 a.m., according to the Independent Investigations Office of B.C.

“After they got there, police attempted to arrest a man, who suffered an injury in the process,” the IIO said in a news release.

“The man was taken to the hospital where the injury was confirmed, and he was given treatment.”

The IIO investigates all officer-involved incidents that result in serious harm or death, whether or not there are allegations of wrongdoing.

Anyone who was in the Tim Hortons or who has information about the incident is urged to call 1-855-446-8477.
