Windsor police say that they’ve arrested a 40-year-old man after a standoff in Walkerville on Tuesday morning.
Officers were called to the 700 block of Chilver Road on Tuesday to assist members of the OPP Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad in their attempt to execute a warrant.
Upon arrival, the suspect refused to comply with commands to exit the residence.
The road was closed between Tuscarora Street and Cataraqui Street as officers secured a perimeter around the property.
Trained negotiators resolved the situation after five hours, and the suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.
