Construction season in full swing

Published:

Construction season has officially begun, causing drivers headaches.

Now that the weather is beginning to get warmer, construction season in the city has begun.

Drivers will see some work being done on Tecumseh Road East, causing a three-day disturbance.

The Tecumseh Road East and Walker Road intersection is closed as crews install a feeder main. The road is closed right down west of the intersection, expanding to Byng Road.

No left turns are permitted at the Tecumseh/Walker intersection unless you are turning left from Tecumseh to travel south on Walker.

Ward 4 Councillor Mark McKenzie said drivers should avoid the area completely and don’t cut down side streets.

LaSalle is also seeing construction, but it will be quite a bit longer.

Turkey Creek Bridge is closed for bridge rehabilitation. The Matchett Road and Sprucewood Avenue intersection is closed as well.

The work will include intersection widening, repaving, and traffic lights installed. The work is expected to end in June.
