Construction crews will soon break ground on a new cricket field at Derwent Park.
The field will be behind the Children’s Safety Village. The City of Windsor said the open field portion of the park will be closed to visitors beginning April 14 until late July, weather permitting.
The trail system and other areas of the park will stay open.
Once construction is done, there will be a concrete cricket pitch with artificial turf, wooden bleachers, player benches, and irrigation system, drainage, and a small utility shed.
