A flood warning has been issued in Lakeshore by the Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA).

It is in effect for the Ruscom River as of noon on Thursday.

After Wednesday night’s storm, 30 to 50 millimetres of water was added to the waterways in Essex. Some areas in Lakeshore saw more than 60 millimetres.

Ruscom River water levels have surpassed the riverbanks and low-lying areas. A portion of water is over Lakeshore Road 241, north of County Road 46, according to ERCA.

Everyone is encouraged to avoid areas that have flooded, including rivers, streams, and shorelines. Slippery banks and fast-moving water can be dangerous.

This will remain in effect until noon on Friday.
