The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association (DWBIA) is offering you $8,000 for your public event in Windsor’s downtown.
Whether it’s a music night, art market, food festival, cultural celebration, or anything in between, the DWBIA wants to help you launch it.
“This support is about lowering the barriers,” said Chris MacLeod, chair of the DWBIA.
“We’ve worked hard to make downtown a destination and events play a huge part in that. When people gather downtown, when they hear live music, try local food, connect with artists or performers, it changes how they see the space. It brings life and connection to our streets.”
Both free and ticketed events can qualify for the financial assistance. Also included in the package is the funding per event, hands on help with permitting, licensing, and promotion.
“This is how we activate the core,” said Renaldo Agostino, Ward 3 councillor.
“We’re not just talking about concerts or big productions. We’re talking about giving people the tools to create something that reflects this community: Its energy, its diversity, and its heart. This is about amplifying the voices and ideas that make Windsor unique.”
If you have an event idea that you would like to submit, you can do so here. Applications are now open until May 15. Early application is requested as dates will fill up fast.
