A section of Prince Road was shut down Wednesday afternoon as Windsor police officers responded to reports of a person with a shotgun.

Dozens of officers, including members of the Emergency Services Unit and K9 unit, were deployed to a business near Crawford Avenue shortly after 1:30 p.m.

Police swept the building as a precaution, temporarily closing off the roadway.

After a thorough search, officers found no threat, and police confirmed to CTV News that the call was a false alarm.

Authorities have not released further details on the origin of the report.
