Knifepoint threats at Devonshire Mall lead to arrest: WPS

A suspect has been arrested after allegedly threatening shopping mall security with a knife.

The Windsor Police Service said the incident happened just before 1:30 p.m. on April 4. Officers were called with reports of a man with a knife at Devonshire Mall.

Police said the suspect was verbally aggressive after he was escorted out of the mall by security. The suspect allegedly then pulled out a knife, threatening security staff.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the suspect was found and arrested without incident in the 300 block of Glengarry Avenue.

The 35-year-old man is now charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of uttering threats, and two counts of breach of probation.

The knife was recovered by officers.
