The Winsor Lancers fell just short of their shot at history on Friday night.

In their first time hosting the Forsyth Cup, the Lancers men’s volleyball squad lost the opportunity to hang the OUA banner in a defeat to the Queen’s Gaels.

Despite competitive play, Windsor fell behind early by dropping the first two sets in close play.

The Lancers rallied in the third set to erase a Gaels lead and earn a 28-26 win.

However, in the fourth set, the Gaels took a 9-1 lead and didn’t look back en route to their first Forsyth Cup victory since 2020.

With the Forsyth Cup in the rearview, the Lancers will still have an opportunity to redeem themselves on the national stage.

The 2025 USPORTS national championships are being hosted in Brandon, Man. from March 21 to 23.
