The City of Windsor has hired a contractor to deal with a noxious and poisonous weed known as ‘wild parsnip.’
The invasive species is of particular concern along the Ganatchio Trail.
Weather permitting, a herbicide will be sprayed on the weed from April 30 to May 23.
Wild parsnip is considered one of the most invasive plants in Ontario.
Growing up to 1.5-metres tall in a wide range of environments, crowding out native plants.
Its sap can cause severe burns.
