New chair of Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority board confirmed

The Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA) has a new Chair of it’s Board of Directors.

Marie Campagna has been selected as new chair - member of the board since 2017, she has served as interim chair since May 2024, and is now officially chair of the board.

The WDBA oversees the operation of the Gordie Howe International Bridge, which is slated to open in fall 2025.

Confirmed in an announcement on Friday, the Honourable Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities, announced the selection in Ottawa.

"Her extensive knowledge of the project, combined with her highly collaborative nature and strategically focused approach to managing finance and operations will serve the organization well as WDBA shifts its focus from construction to the operational phase of the project," said Minister Erskine Smith. He affirmed that the completion of the bridge would see large economic benefits on both sides of the border.

Campagna has over 40 years of experience in public and private sectors, and was selected as part of an open selection process which considered applications from a variety of individuals with leadership experience in various private and public organizations.
