The Windsor Spitfires had a chance to take a commanding series lead in Sault Ste. Marie on Wednesday night.
The Greyhounds came in strong and opened the game with a goal from Travis Heyes, however that was the only one they would get into the Spits’ net.
The Spitfires’ Noah Morneau answered with a game tying goal shortly afterward.
The 1-1 tie was broken in the second period by Ilya Protas, and the Spits managed to score two more after that bringing the final to 4-1 for the Spitfires.
Windsor now have a 3-1 series lead and can clinch a spot in the next round of the playoffs with a win at home on Friday.
