The Chatham-Kent Police Service says it is continuing to monitor developments related to the escape of an inmate from a correctional institution in Kingston. Police said Mason Jenkins has connections to the Chatham-Kent area and officers are working closely with partner agencies as efforts continue to locate and apprehend him. In a statement released Friday, the service said it has taken precautionary measures in response to the escape and remains focused on public safety. “The safety of our residents remains our top priority, and we are committed to taking all reasonable steps to support public safety while assisting our policing partners in their efforts to locate and apprehend the individual,” the service said. Police are encouraging residents to remain vigilant and say updates will be provided as new information becomes available. Anyone with information about Jenkins’ whereabouts is asked to contact Sgt.
