Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Windsor-Essex due to “significant rainfall” in the forecast.

Rainfall amounts of 10 to 20 millimetres are predicted for Tuesday night and Wednesday. Rain with isolated thunderstorms will impact southern Ontario on Wednesday.

“This rainfall, combined with melting snow and the limited ability of the frozen ground to absorb the rain may lead to localized flooding in low lying areas and water pooling on roads,” said the statement.

For information concerning flooding, consult the local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details.
