Impaired driving charges have been laid after a pick-up truck crashed into a fence in Windsor.

According to the Windsor Police Service, the incident took place just before 11 a.m. on Saturday in East Riverside.

Witnesses told police they saw a grey pick-up truck run into a wooden fence in the 1200 block of Enfield Court. The driver then allegedly ran from the scene.

Police found the suspected driver not far from the scene. When officers spoke to her, they said they could smell alcohol on her breath, alongside other signs of impairment.

The suspect was taken to police headquarters for a breath test, which she reportedly failed.
