Unifor Local 444 has been notified by Stellantis that the Windsor Assembly Plant will return to both shifts, the morning and afternoon shifts, for two weeks.

The week of April 21 and April 28, both shifts will run.

“The company has made no decisions beyond that as of yet,” read a social media post by the union.

“As always, take direction from management.”

In a statement, Windsor-Tecumseh MPP Andrew Dowie said:

“The news from Stellantis in our community is devastating. For the thousands of our workers and families being recklessly impacted by President Trump’s tariffs, I share in your sadness, pain, and anxiety about what comes next. Uncertainty and chaos in the North American auto sector is an exercise in futility that helps neither Canadians nor Americans.

“Our government will do whatever it takes to protect Ontario’s businesses and workers who are being affected by the U.S.’ unjustified tariffs. We are working closely with industry and labour partners as we face the impacts of these challenging times. We remain laser focused on getting the U.S. to lift these tariffs immediately and will not stop for a moment in our efforts.”
