Windsor-Essex braces for warm holiday weekend with thunderstorm risk

Environment Canada says to expect a mix of sun and cloud Sunday, with temperatures reaching a high of 27C, feeling like 34C or 93 F with the humidex. Keep an eye out for a shower or two popping up late this afternoon, and there’s a risk of a thunderstorm.

The risk of a thunderstorm lingers early this evening before clearing to partly cloudy skies. The overnight low will be around 17 or 63.

Victoria Day Monday: The holiday Monday looks sunny to start, but clouds will begin to roll in during the afternoon. Winds will be from the south, gusting up to 60 km/h in the morning, contributing to a very warm day. The high is forecast to be 31, with the humidex climbing to 35 or 95 F.

Monday Evening: Skies will clear overnight, with a low of 21 or 70.

Tuesday: Tuesday will see a mix of sun and cloud with a 40 percent chance of showers. It will remain windy, and temperatures will be high, reaching 32 or 90.

Wednesday: A cooler day is on tap for Wednesday. Under a cloudy sky, expect a 30 percent chance of showers, with a high of 22 or 72.

Thursday: The week wraps up with a mix of sun and cloud and a significantly cooler high of 15 or 59.
