Windsor property crime up in July, but down year to date

Property Crime in Windsor increased in July but is still down overall year to date.

According to Windsor police, July saw a nearly 13 percent increase in property crime compared to July 2024, with 1, 123 reports.

Most everything else saw a decrease compared to July 2024, including crimes against people (down 6.8 per cent) and other criminal code violations such as child porn, non-violent weapons offences and gaming and betting offences — down 7.5 per cent.

Year to date January to July, property crime is down 8.8 per cent compared to 2024, crimes against people is down 2.4 per cent and other criminal code violations saw an increase, up four per cent.

Ward 3 saw the highest number of both property crimes and crimes against people in July 2024, followed by Wards 2 and 4 with the next highest rates for property crime.

Wards 1, 6 and 7 had the lowed number of both property crimes and crimes against people for July 2025.
