Advance voting is officially underway for the federal election.

According to Elections Canada, the rules for advance voting in the federal election differ from provincial elections as you cannot vote at just any advance polling location in the province. If you choose to vote during the advance voting period in the federal election, you must vote at your assigned station.

To determine your assigned polling location, check your voter information card or use Election Canada’s online service.

Once at the polling station, voters must show proof of their identity and address. A full list of accepted IDs can be found online.

Canadians can also vote early at any Elections Canada office across the country by April 22 at 6 p.m.

Advance polling runs from April 18 to 21. Voting hours take place from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The federal election is set for April 28.
