Attempted robbery suspect threatened business with bomb: RCMP

The Manitoba RCMP is searching for an attempted robbery suspect who threatened a Dauphin, Man., business with a bomb.

The investigation began on Monday around 11:30 a.m. when police learned of an attempted robbery on 1st Avenue NE in Dauphin.

According to RCMP, a man went into the store, waited for the other customers to leave, and then handed the clerk a note saying he had a bomb. Police allege the note also demanded cash and asked the employee to not press the panic button.

The suspect ran from the scene with no money or merchandise. No one was physically hurt.

Officers patrolled the area but didn’t find the suspect, who is described as wearing a black face covering, a black hoodie, grey pants, and possibly black Converse shoes.
