Brothers wanted following double shooting in February: WPS

Published:

Two men are wanted in connection with a double homicide in February, and are considered armed and dangerous.

Police are asking for help finding two brothers wanted in a double slaying earlier this year.

The Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) said 24-year-old Jermain Gage Houle is wanted for second-degree murder, while 27-year-old Aaron Junior Houle is wanted for accessory after the fact. Police said the brothers are considered possibly armed and dangerous.

The charges stem from a double shooting at an Alfred Avenue house on Feb. 15.

Police were called to the house around 4:15 a.m. for reports a woman had been shot.

Officers found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to hospital in critical condition but later died from their injuries.

The victims were identified as 33-year-old Sheldon Derrach Catcheway from Swan Lake First Nation and 35-year-old Shanastene Irene McLeod from Muskowekwan First Nation in Saskatchewan.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jermain or Aaron Houle is asked to contact the WPS homicide unit or Crime Stoppers.
