The ongoing cold snap is having an impact on Manitoba drivers.

According to CAA Manitoba, the organization is motoring around the province trying to help boost vehicles.

A spokesperson said that since Friday, they’ve responded to 1,792 calls, with 70 per cent of those calls battery-related. They said the call volume is higher than normal daily call volumes.

So far on Monday, CAA has received 1,401 calls for service, the majority battery related. The spokesperson said they usually get a high volume of calls on Monday following a weekend as people begin mobilizing for the week.

The spokesperson said on a typical winter day, CAA averages between 300 and 400 calls.
