The City of Winnipeg has officially lifted its annual winter parking route ban.
The ban first came into effect on Dec. 6 and prohibited parking on certain streets between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m., regardless of weather conditions.
Anyone who violated the ban was at risk of getting fined up to $100 or towed.
According to the city, 8,707 tickets and tow orders were issued between Dec. 6 and March 5 as a result of the ban. Of those, 5,876 were towed from the street.
