Springtime in southern Manitoba can often include snowfall warnings, and Tuesday is one of those days.

A snowfall warning issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada continues this afternoon for parts of western Manitoba, mainly in the Parkland region.

The weather agency said 10-25 cm of snowfall is possible by the time it tapers off Wednesday morning, with areas in higher terrain expected to receive the most.

This late April snow is courtesy of a low over North Dakota that will also spread rain into Winnipeg and the southeast beginning this afternoon.

Rain will continue tonight in Winnipeg, while Brandon will likely see rain flip over to snow or flurries as temperatures drop overnight.

Meanwhile, high pressure near Churchill on Tuesday will help to bring sunshine to several regions in the north this afternoon.

Regions closer to central Manitoba will be cloudier, but dry while precipitation remains further south.

Ahead on Wednesday, there is the chance of morning showers in Winnipeg before some afternoon clearing.

By Thursday and Friday, sunshine and soaring temperatures in the mid to upper teens return.
