Katherine Dow’s forecast: A sunny Tuesday before a soggy mid-week turn

Katherine Dow has your current conditions and updated weather forecast for April 15, 2025.

A sunny, not terribly warm Tuesday is unfolding across Manitoba, as a low tracking into our province is expected to mix things up overnight.

Much of the province is forecast for a mix of sun and cloud, with clearer skies on the horizon for south-central regions.

Temperatures in northern Manitoba are forecast to peak a few degrees above freezing.

The southwest is the only region dealing with seasonal temperatures, with highs into the low teens.

Winnipeg is forecast for a high of 8 C with light winds that are set to ramp up overnight out of the southeast at 20 gusting to 40 km/h.

Skies will cloud over in the south overnight Tuesday, as well, with temperatures hovering around the freezing mark.

Meanwhile, an approaching low tracking from the west will spread mixed precipitation overnight in northern Manitoba. It will start in central regions as rain and transition to snow as it tracks further northeast.

Snow continues in these regions into Wednesday. Mild temperatures will hamper high accumulations, though Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) predicts 2 to 4 cm could fall in the northeast.

Southern Manitoba will stick with clouds into Wednesday, trading in the sunshine for above seasonal temperatures. Winnipeg is looking at a high of 14 C, while areas in western Manitoba could be a few degrees warmer. Those strong southeasterly winds prevail, as well.

However, the south won’t escape the week without some more moisture.

A separate system could bring rain overnight Wednesday that will last into Thursday, as the low over northern Manitoba tapers off.
