A fatal crash in Glenboro, Man., on Thursday left one man dead and caused a power outage in the town.

According to RCMP, a 28-year-old Cypress River man was driving on Glenboro’s Railway Avenue when he crashed into a hydro pole and then proceeded to hit a tree, which is where his car came to a stop.

The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was declared dead at the scene.

Police note that some parts of the town were without electricity for a short period of time because of the crash.

The driver was the only person inside the car.

RCMP continues to investigate.
