Iconic Canadian entertainer Martin Short is set to take over as co-headliner at an upcoming outdoor comedy festival making a stop in Winnipeg.

The SCTV and Saturday Night Live alum will share the bill with John Mulaney at the upcoming Great Outdoors Comedy Festival coming to Assiniboine Park on July 19.

He takes over for Jim Gaffigan, who had to pull out from the tour due to an unforeseen conflict.

Short is one of Canada’s most celebrated comics and entertainers, with multiple Emmy and SAG awards and a Tony Award to his name. He was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2019.

The Hamilton, Ont. native can currently be seen in the hit series “Only Murders in the Building” with his longtime collaborator Steve Martin and Selena Gomez.

The festival kicks off on July 18 with performances from Bert Kreischer, Whitney Cummings and Ms. Pat.

The Trailer Park Boys featuring Bubbles and the S**trockers are slated to perform July 20 with special guest Jeremy Piven performing a standup set.

Closing out the weekend that night – Theo Von, host of the massively popular podcast “This Past Weekend,” will take the stage. He will be joined by Dusty Slay and Laura Peek.

Tickets are on sale now through the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival’s website.
