The Winnipeg Police Service arrested two people on Friday in connection with a drug trafficking investigation that resulted in the seizure of thousands of dollars worth of cocaine, fentanyl and heroin.
The investigation began in February with officers determining drugs were being trafficked out of a home in Winnipeg’s Burrows neighbourhood.
On Thursday, investigators searched a home in the 800 block of Aberdeen Avenue and a storage locker in the south end of the city. This resulted in the seizure of:
- About 144 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $9,000.
- About 48 grams of fentanyl with an estimated street value of $8,000.
- About 18 grams of heroin with an estimates street value of $2,000.
- About 14 T3 pills.
- $2,500 in Canadian money.
- A sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun and ammunition;
- A taser-type device.
- ID documents.
- Cellphones.
On Friday, police charged a 46-year-old man and 44-year-old woman in connection to the investigation. The man faces 14 drug trafficking and gun-related offences, while the woman faces six drug trafficking-related charged.
The male suspect is in custody and the female suspect has been released on an undertaking.
