Nominations have officially closed for the Transcona byelection, with four candidates vying for the seat.

On Monday, Elections Manitoba announced the official candidates as Susan Auch, running as an independent; Brad Boudreau for the Liberal Party; Shannon Corbett for the NDP; and Shawn Nason as the PC candidate.

Advance voting begins on March 8 at the local election office on Paquin Road or the All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

The seat was left vacant after former MLA Nello Altomare died on Jan. 14.

The byelection is set to take place on March 18. Eligible voters can vote at any poll.
