One killed, two injured in Winnipeg house fire: police

Winnipeg police are investigating a house fire that resulted in the death of a 44-year-old woman and sent two others to hospital over the weekend.

Firefighters and police responded to a fire at a home in the 300 block of Blake Street on Sunday at 2:41 p.m.

First responders found a 44-year-old woman dead inside the home.

Police said a man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s were taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries due to the fire.

The major crimes unit is investigating and said the fire is believed to be accidental at this time.
