Third suspect sought in 2024 kidnapping, murder of Ontario man

Winnipeg police have issued a warrant for a man wanted in connection with the kidnapping and murder of an Ontario man in 2024.

Zeyad Vifan Shammo, 22, was found dead inside a home in the 100 block of Bristol Avenue on Sept. 13, 2024. He had been reported missing four days earlier from Bridge Lake Drive.

Two 26-year-old men, who police said knew Shammo, were arrested and charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and extortion, and were taken into custody.

The investigation has continued, and police have identified a third suspect.

Chad Jason Dandan, 24, is wanted on a warrant for first-degree murder, kidnapping and extortion. Police said he is believed to be in northern Manitoba.

Dandan is approximately five-foot-six with a medium build, and weighs roughly 140 pounds.

Police said he may be armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
