The City of Winnipeg is set to pay tribute to legendary rock band Bachman-Turner Overdrive with an honorary street naming.
On Monday, Councillors Markus Chambers and Ross Eadie announced the honorary naming of a section of the Disraeli Bridge Roadway to Bachman-Turner Overdrive.
The goal of this dedication is to acknowledge the band’s connection to the city and major contributions to the world of music.
A dedication ceremony is scheduled for Friday at 1 p.m. at Oseredok Ukrainian Cultural and Education Centre. Members of the band, city officials and community leaders will be in attendance to unveil the honorary signage.
This honorary naming does not impact the official name or address of the Disraeli Bridge.
