Fredericton police arrest 3 in relation to drug trafficking investigation

On April 17, police executed a search warrant downtown Fredericton with police dog services, patrol officers and members of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).

According to a news release from the Fredericton Police Force, they seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl, drug packaging materials, digital scales, a rifle and ammunition.

Andrew McCloskey, 43, of Fredericton has been charged with the following offences:

• failure to comply with a release order
• possession for the purpose of trafficking
• unsafe storage of a firearm
• unauthorized possession of a firearm

McCloskey was put into custody until a future court date.

Two Fredericton women were also arrested, according to police. A 49-year-old and a 38-year-old whose identities have not been released face the following charges:

• possession for the purpose of trafficking
• unsafe storage of a firearm
• unauthorized possession of a firearm

The 49-year-old was released on conditions and the 38-year-old was released unconditionally.
