A New Brunswick man who was sentenced to prison this month for possessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material has died while in custody in Nova Scotia. Correctional Service Canada (CSC) says 65-year-old Dominique Tremblay died at the Springhill Institution in Springhill, N.S., on Friday, just two weeks after he was sentenced. CSC did not release any details about his death, which is under investigation. “As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) will review the circumstances,” said the agency in a statement on Monday. “CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.” Tremblay’s next of kin has also been notified. Tremblay pleaded guilty to possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material on Oct. 6, 2025. The Sainte-Anne-De-Kent man was sentenced to three years in prison on June 12.
