Two men have been sentenced to time in prison after shooting at a moving vehicle in Moncton, N.B., last year. RCMP responded to a shooting incident on MacAleese Lane around 2:30 a.m. on April 19, 2025. Police said someone fired at a moving vehicle, hitting both the driver and the passenger. The driver was able to leave the area. Both victims were taken to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. A 33-year-old man from Moncton and a 27-year-year-old man from Halifax were arrested later that day in connection with the incident. Robert Seary appeared in Moncton provincial court the next day and was charged with discharging a prohibited firearm with intent and accessory after the fact. Brandon Robert Winsor also appeared in court and was charged with aggravated assault and several firearm charges. Seary returned to court on June 24 and was sentenced to two years in prison. He will be prohibited from owning or possessing any firearms for 10 years. Winsor was sentenced to six years in prison. He will also be prohibited from owning or possessing any firearms for a decade.
