RCMP are responding to a “dangerous person believed to be armed” in Belmont, N.S. Police are on Belmont Road and advise local residents to shelter in place. An alert has been issued for the immediate area. Plains Road and Onslow Mountain Road are closed, and police are asking the public to avoid the area. In a statement to CTV News, RCMP say it’s “not a standoff situation at this time.” Police say there haven’t been any reported injuries or shots fired.
