Police in Halifax are investigating a shooting that sent a man to hospital with serious injuries Tuesday morning. Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 3300 block of St. Andrews Avenue around 9:20 a.m. “Officers located a 25-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound and provided life-saving measures until he was transported to the hospital by EHS,” said police in a news release. “The man’s injuries are believed to be life-threatening.” Police said the investigation is in its early stages, but they don’t believe the shooting was a random incident. No arrests have been made and there is no word on a possible suspect at this time. Meanwhile, there is a heavy police presence in the area, and St. Andrews Avenue to Federal Avenue is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
