A 41-year-old man from Pictou County has been arrested for allegedly driving an ATV while under the influence of drugs in New Glasgow, N.S. New Glasgow Police charged the man with impaired operation of an all-terrain vehicle after a traffic stop on East River Road on July 21. Police on patrol observed the ATV around 10:30 p.m. “The driver was not wearing a helmet,” reads a social media post from the police force. “New Glasgow Police conducted a traffic stop and observed signs that the driver was impaired by a drug.” They arrested the man and brought him to the New Glasgow Police station, where he was evaluated by a certified drug recognition expert. Police say the expert found the driver was impaired by drugs.
