A 24-year-old man has died after he was thrown from a boat in Nova Scotia’s Northumberland Strait. The RCMP responded to the scene near Oak Island, off the shore of Wallace Bay, N.S., around 10:40 p.m. Tuesday. Police say five people were on the boat when it ran aground and one passenger was thrown from the vessel. The 24-year-old man from Wallace, N.S., suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the wharf in Wallace, where he was pronounced dead. “The operator of the boat, a 19-year-old Wallace Station man, was arrested and has since been released pending further investigation,” said the RCMP in a news release Thursday. Police say the investigation is ongoing. They’re asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Cumberland County District RCMP at 902-447-2525. This was the second fatal boating incident in Nova Scotia this week. Two men also died after going overboard in Aylesford Lake in Kings County on Canada Day.
