The Chicks are set to headline night one of Halifax Music Fest Friday and are doing their part to ensure residents have a smooth ride to their show. According to a Thursday post on the country band’s Facebook page – which has 1.5 million followers – they are looking to expand their social reach. “To help further the Chicks’ efforts to bump up their social media followers to three-digit numbers, we wish to notify the citizens and visitors of Halifax, Nova Scotia that the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic through June 25 to replace the lane control system, presumably in anticipation of the Chicks’ concert this weekend,” reads the cheeky post. The Angus L. Macdonald Bridge has been closed overnight, from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., since last Sunday. The closures were in place to allow for the replacement of the lane control system. Thursday night marked the last bridge closure. It will remain open this weekend. “Please follow for all important updates related to the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge,” added The Chicks’ post. Shaboozey, Blue Rodeo and The Barr Brothers are joining The Chicks for night one of Halifax Music Fest on Friday.
