Traffic disruptions are expected on a busy stretch of road in Dartmouth, N.S., for the next several weeks. Repaving and maintenance work will begin in mid-July on Nantucket Avenue between Wyse and Victoria roads. “This project includes coordinated road maintenance and infrastructure improvements designed to enhance safety, accessibility and long-term road conditions,” reads a municipal release. The work will be done from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weeknights and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. for any weekend work. The Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) says two-way traffic will be maintained throughout most of the project, though stop-and-go traffic may be needed at times. Access to and from the Macdonald Bridge via Nantucket will be maintained “at all times.” Emergency access, local access and access to the nearby Zatzman Sportsplex will also be maintained. Buses will still be able to access the Bridge Terminal, however transit routes in the area may be delayed. The municipality is asking drivers to use alternative routes where possible.
