Two dead following collision involving tractor trailer in Kingston, N.S.: RCMP

Two people have died after a collision on Highway 101 in Kingston, N.S., on Tuesday.

Kings District RCMP and emergency services responded to a report of the crash around 3 p.m.

“Officers learned that a Kia Rio and a tractor trailer, both travelling westbound, had collided,” reads an RCMP news release on Wednesday.

The driver of the Rio, a 75-year-old woman, and the passenger, a 28-year-old man, were pronounced dead at the scene. They were both from Middleton, N.S.

The driver of the truck, a 33-year-old man from Lawrencetown, Annapolis County, was treated at the scene by EHS.

Highway 101 was closed for several hours while an RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and police urge anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact Kings District RCMP at 902-679-5555.
