Halifax police say they continue to investigate a woman’s homicide six years after she was reported missing. Sheila Madore was last seen on July 23, 2020, in the Gottingen Street area of Halifax. She was reported missing to police on Oct. 8, 2020, by a mobile outreach nurse. Human remains were found in a wooded area near Elliot Street in Dartmouth, N.S., on March 12, 2021. The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service later identified the remains as belonging to Madore. Halifax Regional Police says it continues to investigate her death. “It is never too late to come forward and the smallest piece of information may be just what is needed to progress the investigation,” says Halifax Regional Police Const. Martin Cromwell. Her case is also part of the Nova Scotia Department of Justice Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program. The program offers cash rewards of up to $150,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction for certain major unsolved crimes. Police are asking anyone with information about Madore’s homicide to call them at 902-490-5020 or the rewards program at 1-888-710-9090. For more Nova Scotia news, visit our dedicated provincial page
