Unscheduled price adjustments known as “interruptions” are a response to market conditions, said the release from the commission. “Global markets are currently experiencing high volatility in response to geopolitical tensions abroad,” said the release. “As markets continue to respond to global events, the commission has had to respond with appropriate pricing adjustments to maintain fairness for Islanders and consistent supply.” The commission’s next scheduled price adjustment is on Tuesday.
