What began as a tense, nerve-wracking Game 7 for the Barrie Colts on Tuesday night turned into a 6-4 triumph that sent the home crowd at Sadlon Arena into a frenzy.

In a ‘do-or-die showdown’ against the Kingston Frontenacs to close out their second-round series, the Colts dug deep and delivered on home ice.

The Frontenacs led off the scoring, as they had in all but one game so far in the series.

With everything on the line, it was captain Beau Jelsma who capped off the night, burying an empty-net goal to lock in the 6-4 win for Barrie.

The Tuesday night victory sends the Colts to the Eastern Conference Finals, setting up a rematch with the Oshawa Generals for the second straight postseason.

The Barrie Colts 2023-2024 season came to a premature end at the hands of the Generals, with Colts seeking revenge this time around.

The OHL Eastern Conference Final will kick off with a home game for the Colts. The puck drops Friday night and 7:30 p.m. at Sadlon Arena.
