The City of Barrie has schedule changes and closures during the Easter long weekend, affecting recreation centres, City Hall, curbside collection, transit, and parking.
Here is what’s open and closed this Easter long weekend:
Recreation Centres:
- Closed on Fri., April 18.
- The centres will offer regular and drop-in programming during the weekend and on Mon., April 21.
City Hall:
- Closed on Friday, April 18 and Mon., April 21.
Barrie Transit:
- There will be no service on Fri., April 18 and no service on Sun., April 20.
- On Mon., April 21, there will be regular weekday service.
Landfill:
- Closed on Fri., April 18, Sun., April 20 and Mon., April 21
- The landfill has extended depot hours on Sat., April 19 (8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.) to support continued ice storm cleanup.
Curbside Collection:
- There will be no change to waste collection for Easter holidays.
- Collection during the week of this holiday will occur as regularly scheduled for the week.
Parking:
- Downtown parking on-street and lots is free on statutory holidays.
- Waterfront parking is enforced 24/7/365, says the City.
