Nearly a year after a double homicide devastated Barrie, Ont., investigators have confirmed that human remains discovered in the city’s south end last month belong to one of the victims. Barrie police said Thursday the skeletal remains have been identified as 45-year-old William “Blake” Robinson. His bones were discovered Aug. 13 in a wooded area near Anne Street South and Tiffin Street, steps from the former encampment that became the centre of a grisly homicide investigation last summer. At the time, investigators said it was too early to determine whether the discovery was connected to the 2025 killings and treated the case as a separate investigation. That connection has now been confirmed by police. Robinson and 41-year-old David Cheesequay were victims of what investigators have described as a gruesome double homicide. Court documents allege the men were killed months apart and that both bodies were dismembered. Police charged 52-year-old Robert Ladouceur, also known as “Tattoo Rob,” with first-degree murder, second-degree murder and indignity to a body. He remains behind bars. Following the August discovery, officers secured the scene for days as investigators searched the surrounding wooded area and nearby waterways for more evidence.
